About the Role

The overview.

We're looking for a composer and/or sound designer to shape the audio identity of FOB. The game leans into tension, isolation, and the weight of survival — the soundtrack and sound design should reinforce all of that without getting in the player's way.

This is a royalty / revenue-share arrangement — we'd rather share upside than pay a small work-for-hire fee. Open to negotiating master rights and how credit is displayed.

Responsibilities

  • Compose original music — main theme, ambient beds, dynamic combat tracks.
  • Design SFX — gunplay, footsteps, UI, environmental ambience.
  • Implement audio in Unity (native, FMOD, or Wwise — your call).
  • Iterate on temp tracks and rough mixes as the game evolves.

What We're Looking For

  • Strong portfolio of game music and/or sound design.
  • Fluent in a modern DAW (Ableton, Logic, Reaper, Cubase, Pro Tools, ...).
  • Understanding of interactive/adaptive audio — not just linear composition.

Nice to Have

  • FMOD or Wwise middleware experience.
  • Foley recording setup.
  • Orchestral scoring or hybrid orchestral chops.
  • Prior shipped game credits.

What You Get

  • Meaningful royalty share.
  • Full composer / sound designer credit.
  • Open to keeping master rights on the soundtrack — happy to discuss.
  • Creative freedom on the direction, with feedback loops rather than mandates.
